Out of Hospital Birth

Placenta Encapsulation and home birth are easy! You have to find something to do with it anyway, so why not encapsulate?! After the midwife examines the placenta, place it in the refrigerator until I can arrive to pick it up. It is a rare occasion where I cannot make arrangements to pick it up within a few hours, almost always that same day.
Ideally, we will have talked ahead of time and I will only need to buzz in and out of your home on the big day. I'll get to work on the processing and bring your finished capsules back 1-2 days later.
If you are planning to deliver at Mercy Birth Center, it works pretty much the same way. After the birth, give me a call and I can usually come before you head home or upstairs. I always recommend Mercy clients have a small cooler in your car. If I can not be there quickly, or it is in the middle of the night, you can take it to the car with some ice to keep cool until I can retrieve it.
