Lisa VanDyne, independent encapsulator

I'm Lisa, and that's me and my littlest baby there. I started looking into providing placenta encapsulation in 2010, when I heard that the only provider in the StL area was moving. I had not yet experienced the benefits, and truthfully, still thought it sounded a little weird. But I felt really strongly that women in the area who wanted it done deserved to have a provider. So I started researching, and reading, and talking to other placenta encapsulators across the country. What I learned amazed me...and made me sad that I had not been open minded enough to consider it for my earlier pregnancies.
After months of research and training and deliberation, I jumped in and made capsules for a willing friend.... and I was hooked. Her experience with them and recovery from the birth were phenomenal! Two years (and many clients) later I had my own new baby and was thrilled to do the encapsulation for myself. Although I have never struggled with serious Baby Blues, I could still notice a difference in my emotional state and energy level. My physical recovery was also incredibly swift!
I have done extensive research into preparation methods and have provided capsules to more than 1400 happy clients. I am delighted to have families use me as their families grow...I have been doing it long enough now I have seen some grow to 4 or 5 children! I am certified in courses for both safe food handling and blood borne pathogen safety specifically designed for placenta encapsulators. You can be assured that I take your health and safety very seriously. I love all things birth and babies, but placenta encapsulation is all I "do". I'm not a doula or an aspiring midwife, I won't try to sell you jewelry or kitchen gadgets or anything. You will never have to wait for your finished capsules because I am attending a birth. Because placenta encapsulation is my only profession, all of my time researching and studying is spent on this topic alone.
Please contact me if you have any questions/concerns!
